I have just bought a Shakespear Salt MPV and it seems like a fantastic rod.

After I purchased it I went down to the local marina to try it out. I attached my spinning reel and cast out with a 3 oz weight. I didn't realise how far I could cast and after my first chuck all the line was gone, snapped and in the drink.

So here I am now. I need a relatively light reel for feathering which has a big enough spool. Anyone have any idea for £25 and under?

Thank you for your replies. Would it be best to use a beachcasting reel then? I have a Mitchell 667 FG but would this be too big to use?
