Hi Guys,

Need a bit of advice here on a new fixed spool reel for beach fishing, Got a budget of around £60-£70 for a new reel but need advice on what to get. Its for a 13ft beachcaster (only cheap). Usually use 30lb braid as mainline. I'm using my carp/pike reel at moment, it's ok but not ideal. Am I better off saving a bit more cash and looking for a rod/reel combo from one of the online stores or just getting an upgrade on the reel? I don't need to cast to the horizon so I don't need a multiplier (which I struggle with anyway). Any help here would be most appreciated as I'm still a bit of a newbie to the sea scene( but I tie a mean pulley pennel ).

Many thanks

Don't worry about the "mutiplier" and distance thing mate... You'll cast just as far if not further than the average angler with a fixed spool!
Oh and i use multies lol (and ain't a great caster!!)

Hey wolf, you cant go wrong with a shimano aerlex 7000 or 8000 or for a bit more money shimano biomaster 8000 both reels are brilliant

Looking at the aerlex 8000. looks good to me, biomaster 8000 a bit out my price range at moment but thanks anyway

Do you know any tackle dealers with any deals on for the Aerlex 8000?
