Hi new member here
Can any help with some info, I fish at furnace with a 8 ft spinning rod but just bought 10ft rod what breaking strain line should i use and what min/max weight lure also

Hi dessrob ,welcome to the forum. If you search through the (How To Guides) at the top of the WSF page you will find loads of helpful tips. I wouldn't go below 15lb line for fishing the sea, as you never know what you might hook. That way you have a better chance of landing your fish. Good luck.

There should be some rating marked on the rod itself

10-30g, 15-40g etc

Use the recommended 4.54kg per 28g (10lb per 1oz) breaking strain line as an absolute minimum to avoid crack-offs.

do you meen furnace loch fyne?

if its spinning i use 10-12lb line and thats chucking 2oz but if i was fishing on the bottom i would use a bit heavier bs as furnace is snaggy and would use a rotton bottom set up if on bottom
