Any advice on a new rod, casting 4 to 8, excellent tip, all sorts of fishing from rock to beach, got around £200 to £250 to spend? just the best rod out there for that sort of price really.

if you dont mind going 2nd hand that sort of money will pretty much get you any rod you want. there is a 2nd hand century eliminator for 200 notes on here at the mo

You could get a good second hand Zziplex HSM for £250, they have a brilliant fishing tip they will cast 4-8oz but I would only use them for clean to mixed ground. I wouldn't use them for rock fishing. Here's two reviews of the HSM

Another rod you which will be good for all round fishing including rocks is the Century CMC (Carbon Metal Crest). and you can get one new for just over £250
