Hi,

I usually fish in Wales and fancy a go somwhere around the Bristol area where I am currently in uni.

Was just wondering any advice of where to fish - I have read Aust is quite good.. whats the parking like?

Thinking of going Wednesday so any advice would be great.

thanks

Probably best to speak to Timtu (Timinit) and Nick Snow, they'll put you on somewhere thats safe and easy to fish. The Channel can be quite dangerouse, so I would tag along with someone for now. They'll know wheres fishing well up there as well!

Hi

Thanks for your reply Ginge..

Further to the original post, could someone recommend a fishing shop within Bristol to purchase some bait (i.e. rag, lug or peeler) from please?

Thanks

Codjaw,

Codling sport is slowing down up here as well (upper channel)

If your interested in some summer fishing for Bass and Sole, i'm sure we can arrange something.

You can PM me, but probably best PM Timtu (i'm sure he won't mind!), as he's hot on the summer fishing, and i'm going to be away soon for holidays.

Where are you studying? UWE or Bristol Uni? brings back fond memories of my student life !!!!!!

Best regards, Nick.

Hi Nick

Im studying in UWE, its my last year so i probably wont be around for much of the summer!

Thinking of going to Aust Wednesday morning, but if you think it wont be that good, do you think Clevedon or Avonmouth would be better?

Thanks

Theres also Olivers Angling in Clevedon, little bit out of your way, but he does have some top quality bait in there, and Veals is good, but a little difficult to get to and park.

Codjaw, I went to the UWE (back in the early 90's, showing my age now!!!!!)

Shouldn't you be worrying about your finals right now? rather than fishing???? as a third year student

I still have nightmares about mine (finals) at UWE, but then I now have nightmares about going home each night (wife etc.....)!!!

Is the main bar still called the Mandela bar? and I won the firkin jackpot twice from the fruit machines (£50 win each time) in 4 years, mortgage deposit in those days, yet I spent it on bear or even beer (Timtu!)

After our finals we surfed up the Gloucester Road on the roof of someones Mark 3 Escort, swiggin Tequilla,

Sweet as, life before Blair (& Brown ) the days of real wars, Saddam Hussein toilet Paper.................. a long time ago.....

And Ben J (Ginge) was a twinkle in his fathers eye.... DONT PUSH ME (the little sperm said, i will be hardcore)!!!!!!!!

The days when Christmas's were Christmas, beer was cheap, **** were a quid for 20, poll tax was ? and I pulled the best looking barmaid in the village, when I went to the states skiing, pulled a bird that looked like Britney (before going bald) danced on the night club floor, drank so much beer, I accidently nutted her (dancing, and she was from Harvard!) and she wouldn't speak to me, when there was no McDonalds, no Muffins (sorry Homer and SGT)

AND NOW BACK TO REALITY..

And the Cod have all but gone......................

Life is sometimes cruel.............. Nick.

Hi Nick
Could be up for that, just one little thing concerns me.
I'm not sure if I'm hardcore enough.
Think I'm running on about 87%, do you think i should apply??

Good on you Codjaw, nice to hear of a few fish hanging around up my end.

KTM, 87% is not good enough, do not apply. Unless you are prepared to swim to Denny island on a 14m spring, with rods held between clenched teeth, live rough for a week, living off the land and sea, then forget it. You will never make 100%.

I'm one step ahead of you Nick! The combination of good weather and a lap top made me think, "firk it, I can do this, I can bledy do it you know"
As I type, the sun light reflecting on the screen of the laptop is giving me a migraine.
It hurts, jees, it hurts real bad, but i know that this is just the start.
It was every effort to swim inch by inch and was almost knocked off course by a floating sheeps carcass riddled with maggots and oozing a foul yellow slick:boat: :yucky:
But- I am here. The Aldi carrier bag I found on the kelp fringe has been fixed into place in the vain hope that a passing eel may provide me with a meal. Think my extreme level must be at its highest yet, 90 or even possibly 95%. Previously I could have only dreamed of this day.

Wait, is that you Seargent Rock? Hey... the radios gone dead.... Seargent, Seargent??????!!!!!!!!!!!!:schmoll: :boat:

Hey KTM, u over Denny for the whole Bank Holiday? man I wanna be extreme and hardcore. Problem is cant swim, doh!

Fresh roasted eel washed down with Duff sounds real fine.

Will see if the Sarge is at home with Marge, he will know how I could get there or I'll call a Navy Seal mate of mine from the US of A, perhaps he'll have some ideas.

Will c u hopefully Good Friday, man cant wait! how many bars on Denny, is it like the Isle of Wight?

Yours sincerely, Homer......

KTM, bravo....

Dont let Cezice's comments put you off.

I gotta admit this guy reli is trying to become hardcore, but it just ant gunna happen sorry,
I think they are extremely worried now, as I believe your hardcore rating could be as high as 97%.

I hope you trapped that eel last night in your ingenious 'Aldi bag' trap, and you were provided with a meal, Ray Mears would be proud of you.

After your serious bravery, I too will embark on a hardcore exercise. Tonight I plan to carry out a scuba dive incorporating (untested) underwater fish surveilance techniques in 'the shoots channel' under the Severn Bridges.

So if you see some rancid carcass washed up on the foreshore of 'Denny', It probably won't be 'the sheep' you saw mid channel, but my beer bloated body!

KTM, one day we will be 100% Hardcore, and be able to walk the banks of the Bristol Channel with heads held high! :clap3:
