New to the area

Hi all

I have just moved to the medway area, after spending years fishing around the anglesey and north wales coast im on new ground and dont really know where to fish. I enjoy fishing beaches and rock marks for rays, conger, smoothound ect.
Does anybody know of any good marks round this area that fish well or know of any guides online to some local marks. I have fished the breakwater at dover a few years ago and had some good sport with bass and mackeral, what time of year do the bass and mackeral start to show down here?
And finaly have the crab started to peel and is there anywhere i can collect them in the medway

Cheers in advance

Danny

hi danny,

you won't find no rock marks like they got on anglesey in kent!!i'm up that way the end of may once again!(can't wait!)

the mackerel will start at the end of april if this weather sort's itself out.the crab's have started peeling already but the won't glut for a while(weather)

dover breakwater, dungeness, dover's admiralty pier's second half are good spots to start of with in kent.there are some other good marks around here, just keep an eye on this forum.

as for places in the medway to find crab, don't know it very well, best to go out and have a little explore mate....dave.
Hi Danny
Welcome to the site, you will find that the best guides to marks in the South East are right here, look at the reports and ask about where you want to fish, someone will help you. Afraid I can't help with the Medway area but if you ever come up to the North/mid Essex area give me a call.

Hi Danny

If you want "good" fish from around the S.E, "Morrisons" or "Tescos" would be you best bet, move further South and West, or back to Wales, or get a f'kin big boat,

my new "boat" rod is 14'6,

hth

but I don't suppose it will:)

On a more useful note, search for Sun Pier on this forum and you'll get to hear about the mullet.

Welcome and keep the reports coming in when you do get out.:clap3:

I have been to sun pier and caught pout, whiting, and schoolie bas. The mullet there are nice specimens (Ask Leon Roskilly.....) (SP?). Also when its time for the soles to come in a quick hop across the river to the estate (Cant remeber what its called) will be good. It is sadly true though that when the summer comes it does fill up with low life a bit. Its only a small floating jetty and one idiot angler can make life poo for everyone else.:schmoll:
