Hi Jonesy,welcome to WSF bud.
Livebaits normally sort out the bigger fish.
Sandeel or joeys, and they dont need to be cast too far,40 or 50 yds into a surf.
I,ve only been down Pembs. a couple of times so other people will be more qualified to tell you the better marks.
Hope this helps,

There are More Questions Than Answers (Where have I heard that before?)
You could not go far wrong at Newgale in the evening on a Midling tide @ H/W
or on a Spring tide @ L/W with some decent lugworm or peeler at the ready
Once again Welcome, you are in good company !!
I've just been given some info on your area.
Amroth, Saundersfoot using Lugworm
Tenby South use mussel or small ragworm
Freshwater West is supposedely great for Bass as it is a true storm beach.
West Dale Best fished first 3 1/2 hours of flood.
Marloes sands Excellent Bass beach but approximately 1 mile walk
Broad/Little Haven - Left side of Broad Haven seems to have a better catch rate than the rest of the beach. Lugworm
Druidson Haven best fished first 3 hours of flood
Newgale, the far right near the garage or the far left near the caravan park seem to be the best spots. Other species are caught but mainly bass.
