I want to wire up a chartplotter to the existing switch panel in my boat. I don't have a spare slot so i want to disconnect the cabin light which I don't use. Can anyone point me in the direction of a wiring diagram that shows how to do this please? The pictures below show the panel in the boat.

Many Thanks

Take a wire from the switch terminal that is live only in the on position to the live feed for the plotter. Make sure the fuse is the correct size.

Hi
Looking at your switch unit photo,it looks like black leads have been used for the fuse and switch connections,i have coloured them red on drawing.
also as Gordmac said, make sure fuse is the right amperage.

Thanks that's very helpful. How about the black wire though. Does that need to be connected to the - ?
