Hi all,

I am new to your forum and have signed up as I believe this kind of site is a valuable resource for all fisherman and hopefully I will be able to contribute something from time to time.

I fish using a canadian style open canoe in Firth of Clyde / Argyll area and I have to say that so far the results of my efforts have been poor. I even struggle to get amongst the mackies sometimes. Is it me or are there simply very few fish around?

Any advice and guidance will be greatfully recieved

cheers

Hi, Doctor (Doolittle), and welcome to the ... madhouse/fount of all angling knowlege. Nobody on here can agree which it is. That makes WSF a great place. Enjoy being a part of a BIG family.

P.S. If you catch any fish in the Clyde estuary, the deputy Lord Lieutenant of Argyll & Bute will take that as an indication that he's failed in his mission to rid the Clyde of fish.....

Don't mind me. I'm one of the political brigade.

Welcome my friend.

Stay away from the Gareloch area as there are numerous cases of catching crabs whilst socialising:secret:
