Spent the afternoon at a secret Essex location using secret rigs and secret baits. Been over a month since I was last out so it was lovely to be in the mud again. Welsh Mike turned up shortly after myself and then a gentleman called Stan, a venue regular spent a few hours chatting.
I was getting myself match fit for when I take The Mudrat Kings Title away from him, happily catching the venues regular fayre of megrim, witches, mackerel and the like when the afternoon was completely ruined by this ghastly creature.

Just over 40 cms.

Photo cropped to preserve secrecy of venue.
Still, the company was nice

Nice one lazy lob, good on you for getting out there.... I guess you're sharpening the knives and setting coordinates for Rainham?

I was going to try Grays for an early sole but found this planted on Whopper Island

so went for alternative venue.
Not a sniff of a secret bass, though Mike was having a go for them.
