[Scrottocks]

On various charts I have seen an area off Weymouth marked as 'No Fishing'. It stretches from the East Ship Channel of Weymouth Harbour southwards to Easton/Grove point on the east coast of Portland. It appears to include the shore as well. Is this a prohibition for just for commercial boatrs or is it a blanket ban for all anglers - afloat or from the shore?

To the best of my knowledge and according to my chart this is commercial fishing restriction. The only restriction to leisure anglers is that you cannot fish within 100m of the breakwaters or inside the shipping lanes in the entrances, although people do, but if the Port Authority are on patrol they will move you on.

They never moved us this year at the meet

we fished all along the harbour walls and entraces

but we never anchoured just drifted

:wiggle: Commercial mate, but also some restrictions when range boats are training. That is not very often.
