Apart from the deeper water off piers etc, I have always caught more fish in areas where tackle loss is high, it put me off a bit as a beginner but its true.

Not quite sure about that one.

Depends on time of year and what your fishing for.

It may not be just rough ground, i think fish are attracted to any sort of feature.
Anything where food and stuff seem to congregate.

it could be that the rough ground are the only places left where the netters or trawlers can't get at the fish :confused:

Float fishing is quite hard when there is a force 8+ blowing in your face.

I have to agree that the better fish are caught of rock marks. This is where crabs, the better shrimps, prawns, small fish etc congregate, as was said the food source.

It is probably only during the summer than fish move a lot more, following things like sandeels.

Just my opinion.
