Morning all.

Me and a mate set off Tuesday till Thursday for chesil beach, Somerset.

Arrived to find it has been fishing the slowest for ages, but did not really care. We were there for the beach, the sea, all the experience and hopefully fish as well.
Looked at a couple of marks, settled for Burton ( thanks Alan ).
We fished two days and nights so all range of tides and times and baits and rigs.
Pulley rig with big baits for monsters, flapper closer in for a mix up. Even fished a float on calm sea with fish bait for Mack and garfish (which I really enjoyed.)

Took worms and fish baits from home, which saved a fortune. Used lug, rag, bluey, Mack, squid.

Caught dogfish, garfish, gurnard, pout, flatties, Mack and an eel.
Great mix although nothing big.

The Mack were best provider,
Mack for the frying pan on the beach, delicious.
Mack chased up white bait which was thrown on to the beach also for the frying pan.
Also delicious.
Mack brought home for pike bait.

Winner winner fishy dinner.

Had a brilliant time.
No monsters but good mix of fish, fun and life experience.

Excellent stuff Fred, was only wondering yesterday as to how you got on and now I know.

Lovely stretch of beach that.

Shame you didn't find any Rays, but catching Gars on the float certainly brings out the kid in ya, hey! :)

We were down there last week but the trip was cut short (long story). We had a dozen species including lots of big gars which really are brilliant sport. Hoping to get back there in November.
