Me and my M8 went down to the Gower on Friday and had meant to walk around to Burry Holmes to fish 2 tides up and down - anyway we took too much tackle and ended up at Minor Point I think it was (where the blue pool is have I got the right place?).

The fishing was very slack thru the night (1 baby thornie, 2 dogs, 1 mackeral and 1 really nice Starry Smoothhound 6 to 7 pounds - absolutely beautiful fish!!! :) )

Saturday was totally dead we had 4 rods in and were float fishing on spinning rods - only one bite between us!! The crowds descended for mackie bashing and were everywhere all over the rocks  so we decided to leave an hour before high tide.

I'll go back but only with a light backpack and spinning rod!

Was the fishing so slack everywhere due to the sun and clear seas?

Blue Pool fishes well from low water up sun is no issue for hounds etc, did you fish in the cove itself? Or further round to Broughton?

We were fishing off the ledge (just about fit 2 on it) to the right of the blue pool just before the sloping edges around the corner going towards Broughton
