Are you familiar with Octopus fishing?
I mean catching Octopus with lure.

I am actually enjoy fishing in South Korea,
and here it is bit common to use Prawn looking like lure to catch Octopus.
Octopus, Squid and Cuttlefish lure is quite well know here in Korea.

Winter time is difficult time for catching anything.
But interestingly, Octopus comes to the shore, so it still has good chance to catch it.

I tried to Octopus lure fishing and cooked in Korea style.

:) I've caught plenty of octopi on fish baits but even more on a spear. Very tasty. ;)

The Greeks throw out hand lines from the piers with an imitation crab on and a few large hooks, tease it back slowly and give it a sharp pull if they think they're on. Cooked stifado style which is stewing them with tomato and onion is my favourite that I've tried over there and bet I would like the Korean way too. Grilling and eating them plain, which is the most common in Greece, is a waste in my opinion, especially since they usually over cook all seafood. Useless malakas.

When I worked in South Korea at the end of the 1970's I was invited out to a banquet where live octopus were the special delicacy.
They were quite small and served in a little glass bowl with a heavy glass lid about 8 to the bowl.
It seems that the Delicacy part was swallowing them whole and experiencing them making their way to the stomach and then trying to climb back up before hitting the stomach acids.

I did not partake:eeks:
