Off to Skervoy next week. In the past I have carried my reels in my hand luggage with no problem, but my mate told me he was advised to put reels in main luggage. Has anyone had any problems carrying reels in hand luggage?

You can't put anything in the hand luggage that could be used against someone to hit them with or to strangle them with. sorry buddy but reels are a no go.:nono:

What like a pair of boot laces, or a belt, or a stilletto heal on a shoe. Like I said taken my reels in hand luggage twice before no problem. Just asking if anyone knows when it changed

If you are trying to save weight in your hold baggage-take the reels in your hand baggage-and leave the line off of them. Load that up when you get there. Its only the line itself that makes it a threat.
