Fished the deeps from 5pm to 10pm. Weather was good, wind had calmed right down with only a slight swell.

Fished, sandeel/crab/sprat and rag on pulley pennels. Had stacks of small doggies and lost one ray (I think, it felt like one anyway!).

All in all a lovely evening fishing, topped off by a gorgeous sunset!

Sorry, I meant are sprats any good as bait generally, I have used em as a cheap alternative, caught whiting on em, wonder if they will take cod, bass dogs etc.

To be honest, I have not had a lot of luck from the shore with sprats (few whiting and doggies) but have caught rays from a boat on them and thought I'd give them a go.

Will keep trying coz I've got loads in the freezer too!
