Fished the deeps last night. high water was approx 7 o clock, so decided to fish 2hrs up and 2 hrs down. extremely windy at times, and driving rain on numerous occasions ( normally immediately after a knock - sods law! )
Using pennels with lug and squid, and the odd mackerel strip produced a few dogs and some small whiting, nothing of any quality to take home.
The surf was mad last night, really coming in strong, so fished further west, by the shingle beach as you are higher up away from the waves.
Spoke to a guy down there who said that there are a few +10lb conger hanging about down there at the moment, and a few codling, but unfortunately for me, none showed up!
