Both the Orkney 24 and Harley Duver look great.....not many available secondhand though.
Which would you prefer? Had my heart set on an Orkney 24 if a)a secondhand one comes up b) I can ensure I can afford it...
But having seen the Harley Duver she seems a fine boat too.
Thoughts?

The Orkney 24 is a factory made boat, lots of mouldings but all the boats are the same. The Harley 25 is individually made so each one is fitted out differently. Both are designed by TT Marshall and are excellent sea boats. If you are buying new you will have a lot more choices with the Harley, including a basic boat you can fit out yourself. Both are very traditional in looks. I like the extra room in the Harley as you get a decent wheelhouse but not all are fitted out to make best use of that. Engines vary, mine is a big old 260 Yanmar but that is the largest I have seen. There are two Harley 25s on the second-hand market but both at the high end cost-wise, but probably similar to the Orkney. Nigel has only made 12 so far. The Harley will be easier to modify if you want to, if you just want a boat to jump into and use then the Orkney mouldings will make it an easy boat to maintain. I hope that helps.

Thanks Salar, that's really helpful. Is your engine sterndrive?

Yes, Bravo 1x sterndrive. My one was originally fitted with an outboard pod as a test boat. Nigel can also build an inboard version but that would need a short wheelhouse moulding . As far as I know all 12 were fitted with sterndrives.

The Harley 25 is a much bigger boat than the Duver 23, although only two feet longer it feels huge by comparison.
