decided on a sesh today as i haven't been out for ages , thought i would have a go for a bass so off to chosen mark and spent about an hour digging sufficient lugworm job done , started to fish at about 11am
hw was 15.30pm , set up two rods one beach caster and one flattie rod
both with pennel pulley rigs with 4/0 hooks , first rod in the water for about ten minutes when a good knock produced a plaice of about 1lb
second rod went shortly after plaice of about the same size , weed was
a pain for about the first two hours during which time i hooked a small
bass of about 2lb which came off at the edge as the line was covered in
weed never mind , after this the weed became less of a problem and
i continued to catch plaice including this belter which weighed in at
1lb 120z a pb for me so well chuffed :clap2: finished the day with 7 plaice in total , strangely no flounder or dabs, packed up at 2.30pm
as it was starting to lash down all in good day and nice to be out again

Weed still a nuisance then Andy, but good to hear that some plaice are still willing in the area. Must try and get out Thursday afternoon, before the foul weather comes in at the weekend.

looks like a nice fish that one - will have to get over to that mark sometime during the summer

Well done Andy thats a cracker:clap2::clap2:

Assume the weather forcast is poor for weekend Dabhand?
Aye, windmap for Dundrennan gives a forecast of winds from the South veering Westerly of up to 24 mph. on Sat. and Sun. with rain on both days. Not always accurate, and can change daily, but probably the best weather prediction for the area.
