A very small lull in the weather saw us heading to an area that normally provides good general fishing; to start the swell was fairly sizable but as the ebb started the swell eased so did the wind.

Fishing here was slow; this could have been down to the seal feeding behind the boat, along with a pod of porpoises. Once they had moved off whiting and dogs started coming in regularly, but no cod - this mark often fishes well for them!

As low water approached we headed offshore to some deep water to try for a few bigger fish, first drop resulted in a nice spurdog! We had a few more takes but for a number of reasons the fish were lost. As soon as the tide turned the wind picked up in strength and within 20mins it went from all but flat to really uncomfortable! We gingerly made our way back inshore where we waited out the lock closure before heading back in.
