Morning all

As some of you may know, when the kids are off school me & the boy like to get out & wet a line. He really likes fishing the POW, but the tides are all wrong for tomorrow, don't think I've fished it on low tide before.

Anyone know what it fishes like on low tide? Or got any ideas where can fish OK-ISH on low tide?

Not to bothered about traveling (based in thurrock essex)

Thanks lads

My prefered time is the low tide up to the high water I never do as well on the ebb.
If you are just after getting the boy some fish try a rod down the wall as there are normally some small stuff down there but try all depths as they are not always on the seabed

Hi Fubar,

we fished the pow in one of our fun comps a few weeks ago and found it to fish well at

low water too, 2 rods with one down the wall, 3 hook twisted wire booms

with 1.0 hooks on 7inch snoods, fresh Lug and Frozen Blacks did the job well,

we had a very productive between 10 of us we landed 217 fish including 8

differing species, 5 of us up by the shelters were having a few dabs whilst 5

of us at the end by the cafe had more variation, I used a pair of Daiwa 8

footers paired with ABU 6501C4, the tide pull was very strong at times and

found the best way to hold when down the wall was a 12oz bell

lead, look forward to your report,

Tight Lines,

Snagger:cool:

Ps:- I have noticed over the years there seems to be one snag, seems

like a cable that runs the length about 3 yards out.

i'm assuming your looking for a pier?

if so i prefer the addy on the back of the tide from high water down.

samphire hoe is good low water up. only fish down the wall with old weights or spark plugs as it is snaggy.

What a day we had, first bait was in the water by 10:05am & within 5min the rods started knocking.

It was dog's & whiting all day long, landing 10 dogs & 3 whiting, I dropped 3 dogs right at the surface about 5 yards from the wall.

We almost some how managed to snap the top eye of my boys rod & mine :wallbash:

But with 10 dogs in the bag who's bothered lol

The sun was shining all day, very light winds & not as many people fishing as I was expecting.

Up until the tide turned to come back in all the dogs fell to squid, then the fishing dropped of for about 2hr, but after that all hell broke lose, with the dogs taking anything, squid, lug, blow blacks & bluey's.

We had such a good day, just me & my boy fishing all day.

Can't wait to get back down there for a repeat performance (fingers crossed lol)

Enjoy the fishing people
