Hi guys really not sure on which rings to go for as im having a rod built help needed please.

as far a guides go pacbay minima 4s tick all the boxes , if you dont like the silver finish they come in black aswell , extra cost for black though , but i know a guy that fishes alot and does a bit of casting aswell , he got an m4 evo built with minima 4s , he just throws his gear in the back of a transit on top of tools etc , no rod bag , he bent the but ring a few times in different directions and the insert refuses to pop out , if it were a fugi lined guide it would have beeen replaced 10 times over

Fugi alconites all the way chap, I've got rods with alconites and minimas on and much prefer the fugi alcs, but they are a tad expensive think a set of black alcs cost nearly £40

If you treat your fishing rods with the respect they deserve and don't just throw them in your motor or regularly drop them, then a nice set of kwags or alconites will be fine, if you regularly treat your rods like Tonka toys then minima's may help. alconites are not expensive in comparison to the price of a top end blank. Good luck with your choice.
