Thinking of having a pop over high water on Saturday / Sunday -Penarth/Barry area - anyone got any ideas whats fishing well at the moment ?.

Heard a rumour Dock beach in Penarth & Bendricks are doing ok - is this right?. How do you get to the marks & what baits would be best?

Cheers.

hi Tog Dont know how Sully Islands been fishing recently as i have not fished there for a nearly a year. And i dont think anyone else on here has been recently. It,s normally a low water mark 3 hrs after h/w get over there go right up and over to the left hand side fish on the rocks below the (monkey pole) fish out to L/w and first 2 bak then get off only a short session on there (rotten bottom rigs recomended, mak, squid, this time of year no point in wasting money on worms till you know theres some fish lol .

ps bit of a climb down to the rocks & dont go alone.

Not sure if this is any help. fished penarth yesterday got there a bit late really. about 4ish nearly high tide.
Fished on the pier till it closed and then the beach.
1 codling about a 1lb a small whiting and a small conger about 5lb all off the pier

Nice one - What bait were you using Barrelreef?

- might have a go at this Staurday if the plans for Sully don't come off.

How long is it practical to fish the tide down after high on the pier - is the beach itself worth a pop at low water?

Cheers
