Thinking of taking my boy out onto the pier on sunday for some comfortable fishing and to encourage his interest!
Can anyone recomend the best time to fish it.....
The lads attention span will be probably little more than 3 hours.....would it be best to fish hour or two up and down.......mid tide lowish etc?
thanks for any help.

best to fish it over high,an hour or so either side

use a three hook paternoster

mackeral ,sandeel etc

grip lead

no need to cast far

better on bigger tides
2hrs each side of high water the bigger the tide the better thats wot i find good luck m8 let us all know.TIGHT LINES
Make sure theres not a comp on down there though. Coz if there is you wont be able to move on there:yucky: :yucky:

I always go on a saturday. its a nightmare on a sunday, and nearly always a comp going on, been caught out a few times down there in the past.:wallbash:

I never fish it much this time of year, but in the winter i`ve always had better fish on the back of the tide.
Thanks for the info.........how wpould I find out if there is a comp on before hand?
If so I'll try him on the barrage (which I guess will also be busy being a sunday!)
