As you can see, improved bearings, more mags (are they really needed?!?) and gold coloured handle (cosmetic appeal only) to match the spool. BUT possibly considerably more expensive than the original.

Have you used the orig ? If so what did you think ?

I have one and love it. OK, so it can be a bit fast for certain condistions but some thicker oil solves that if needed (why extra mags in the new one ???). I hear rumours about the bearings on the orig, but have had no problems myself. I am currently of the opinion that the increased price of the supermag isnt going to justify the expenditure when IMHO the original is such a good reel.

Yep £15 seems steep for two extra magnets (which cost a few pence each and aren't IMHO needed) and 'better bearings', which again could be purchased for a couple of quid if needed.

Lets hope they are going to discontinue the orig and so be selling them off at rock bottom prices :)

Having said that.... I would like to have a go with the supermag
