Good evening gents I just wanted to show your all the rod I now use for float fishing. some of you may think I’m crazy for using this type of rod for float fishing but after years of trying different rods this one ticks all the boxes for me and the type of fishing I do plus the species I target. I honestly think this is the ultimate rod for my needs.
when float fishing my target species is Wrass and the majority of the time I'm fishing with ragworm from the rocks into deep water.
This is the rod I use
Major Craft 18 Solpara Shore Jigging SPX-962H Spinning Rod
Length 9'6" (ft) 2.89 (m) Section 2 pc Lure Weight 60-100 g
For me the length is perfect it’s not too long for confined spaces on the rocks yet it gives you enough reach to keep the float and hook away from the kelp at your feet when reeling in. Its a nice medium too stiff rod which I find useful when bullying the fish. It’s very light in the hand and on occasion I have tried it flatty bashing it’s sends a one oz drilled bullet out a long way. The guides are Fuji I’m not sure exactly what type they are but they’re stainless and the rod feels very high quality and well made there isn’t anything I would change with it.
If anyone would like some pictures I can upload some when I get home from work.
Just though I’d share with you guys.
