First get an OS map. Landranger No 123 is the one to have

Get out to the mouth of the channel at Careg yr Imbrill, through the estate and caravan park right onto the sand at the end.
From there you can easily and safely fish into the channel, into the mouth, or onto a sandy beach to the right of the breakwater.
Good with bait or lures.
All good marks all year (if the fish are there!)
Note, the nearby rocks although low can get very slippy!
The tackle shop in the town, or the one in Abersoch will know what's being caught & where.

Don't drive too far onto the sand at Carreg yr Imbil, it's soft and you may get stuck ;)

You will also get an excellent selection of lures and good advise at Criccieth Tacklebox, and fresh bait at Porthmadog Bait and Tackle

I'll second the vote for criccieth very helpful, can't recommend the Porthmadog shop, tried them a couple of times and found them pretty useless so won't bother going there again. Can't help with marks as I am new to this area.

Gimlet should be capable of producing rays and huss in early May at night mostly. I haven't used the Porthmadog shop but I do pop in to the one at Criccieth fairly often and there's one in Pwllheli too, both pretty good. A bit early for the black bream - unless it's a warm spring.

And the scallop boats stop wrecking the breeding and feeding sites!

Don't bank on getting fresh bait locally, it can be dug in just a few places but its quite rare to find anything other than freezer bait in local shops, that's not to say that freezer bait doesn't work, it does you just need confidence in it!!!
