We went to Logan last tuesday, flat calm and overcast, we were the first boat to launch in the morning, but 17 trailers on beach and car park when we came back.
The tide was fairly big, so we only planned a couple of hours at the start of the flood in deep water, we got one spur and a huss nudging double figures before we moved inshore.
Struggled for mackerel all day.
The pollock action was non stop, we had rag, sandeel, mackerel strip and even caught on a float fished rubber ragworm.
Easily had over fifty pollock upto 5lb, kept a couple for the barbie and ended the day drifitng with baited hokkais and caught some codling. three haddock, best about 2lb, more for the barbie.
Saw a dozen dolphins in the bay, good end to a good day out.
