I decided to fish the Porthcawl pier today instead of the Ogmore estuary due to the recent heavy rain, nip tide and SE winds.
Went early - 8.30, and got the spot at the very end - the smelly one. High tide was at 2 pm.
Between 9 am and 11.30am it was hectic, I had 10 doggies, 6 good ones over 18 inches and 4 puppies. They were taking everything but crab. Then the shower hit with vengeance. The bites slowed down. I had two more doggies until 3.30 p.m. end left. I saw a young lad catching a whiting well over a pound, no other species cought.
I enjoyed it a lot. I like catching doggies.
