Well it was nice to catch a few fish at last. Fished the Eastern prom. wall at Porthcawl last night, 1 up and 1 down, caught 5 whiting and 2 flatties (think they were flounder-pale orange spots??????), the rods didn't stop jigging and rattling the whole time I was there. Bait was rag hard on the bottom, 3ft flowing trace for the flounder and a 2 hook flapper with 12inch snoods and macky on 15lb amnesia for the whiting (all size 2 hooks), only 8 guys fishing the wall, it was great.

last 4 times i was on the pier,,not a bite,,

I always fish off the pier were those wooden thingies are,i live a mile away so i get to go about 3 times a week,,buts its been dead..

cant say im pleased with the state of the water there recently either, alot of oil floating around,,and rubbish too..

still its handy for me to go get a bit of peace..i use 2 12Ft beachcasters usually,,with fixed spool reels..( dont really need huge casts off that pier,,whats the point,,THERE AINT NO STINKIN FISH,,Heheheh)
