Have just been reading in the north-west evening mail an interview with the owners of Morcambe Bay Shellfish Farms Ltd.
They are trying for a 5 year lease on the foreshore from Rampside to Askam they quote in the paper (the firm is involved in a legal wrangle over who owns the rights and whether the company has authority to restrict fishing.)Please do not think that because you fish off the beach at low water it will not effect you it will, as you will need to cross the land they are leasing.
I believe they have already be turned away by IFCAs when they tried to claim all fishing rights for the same area.
If anyone is aware of this plan can you please comment on this thread so everyone is aware, please remember these are the same people who,s rep at the time said they had not intention to stop anyone fishing this was at the meetings with regards to the mussel farm in walney channel.

Sorry but the magnacarta is superseded by eu law, all they need to do is apply for a several order if they get the fishing rights if they lease the foreshore you are crossing there property.
