Picke up a used sl30sh at what I thought was a good price. But there's some damage i didn't notice.

The crossbar with "SEALINE SL30SH - Daiwa Powermesh Drive" written across it has these deep grooves cut in to it, evidently by the line running across there when it shouldn't be. There are about 4 of them, all towrds the middle of the bar.

How has this happened, and will it impact on the reel's performance? the other side of the bar is protected by a metal strip, but not this one. Has someone been using the reel upside down, somehow?

Yep the previous owner has been using it back to front. I got my first sl20shv for under £45 cos they said it kept breaking them off. It was because they had used it the wrong way round and the plastic groves had frigged the line me thinks. The reel will be fine just use it the right way round hund.
