Going To Porthcawl In Bout Half An Hour
Can You Fish The Pier At Low Water?
Or Is There Any Good Deep Water Marks Around That Area?

porthcawl pier can be fished at low..but not today as the tide is pretty high,,there fore the low is pretty low..if you know what i mean..

you can try newton for the low tide....the pier will be fishable from about 2-3pm onwards..

its very quiet at the moment though..

Sker is a low water mark...

the deepest water is off the pier...

I might be there later on,,hope this helps mate

whats newton like in summer?
i have fished it loads in the winter but never the summer
was thinking of giving it a go sunday
will it fish good on such a big tide (12.6)
do u fish it at low like u do in winter
what baits and sea state i need for it

its good for bass,,if your spinning...so a bit of surf is an idea...if its a high tide...and its a bit rough,,,forget it..

baits would be mackeral.sandeel and rag....squid is an optional extra..

but to be honest..with a big tide like there is this weekend,,id try get on the pier..

Hope it produces a bit better though,,been hellish quiet recently..

ive never been to porthcawl pier but today...

Me and Mattrich Fished there today,,7 hrs..not a bite again..

3rd blank in a row,,,booo :eek:

fished 3 beachcasters and 1 float...feathered for mackeral too..

not a sausage....

somewhere new next outing i think... :cool:
