Fished Rainham Marshes today 11am til about 4 ish.

One rod, flapper with blow lug. Some bassy bites for first hour and half or so but couldn't connect and landed nothing but eels all afternoon, some of a decent size; happily, and without precedent every single one spat the hook upon being placed gently on dry land so no real contact with the sticky stuff - wish I knew how to make that happen again...
