Hello,

Struggling with the Rays this year, havent had one! Obviously there a flat bottom feeding fish, so I guess that its best to try and Keep your bait anchored on the ground? What rig would you recommend for this type of feeding pattern?

Thanks

try an up and over rig - with about a 4ft snood.
or a 2/0 pulley pennel with a 30" snood.
both should see ur bait on the bottom, best of luck!

fishing for thornies on the west coast of scotland , i prefer to use a pulley pennel rig or a running ledger ,iv had rays on paternoster rigs too, no need to anchor the bait to the bottom either.

where are u fishing? if fishing clean ground use 2 or 3 hook clipped rig(loop rig). if fishin over rough stuff an up and over or pulley will work. up and over and pulleys lend themselves nicely to casting 1 large bait when using a pennell. a slack line to your lead will sea baits on bottom. if there is a strong tide the baits will be pinned down anyway, once your lead is holding.
