Size of drop depends on the size of the hole in the bottle. I ask the nice lady at the druggie needle exchange, she lets me have a few freebie clean syringes and needles a year for reel servicing. Currently one with a needle on with rocket fuel, one needle-less with teflon grease in. Fast bearings get two tiny drips of rocket fuel using the needle under the lip of the shield, slow bearings get teflon injected under pressure into the rollers, easier than thumb-packing. I had too much waste from the rocket fuel dispenser, but I know some folk swear by immersing the entire bearing then leaving it to drain before installing.
Theory suggests too much oil in a roller bearing allows a miniature bow wave of oil to form ahead of each ball bearing, thus slowing its progress, but it won't go rusty! You gotta decide what you like yourself.
