Hi there i have a rod that i want to remove the reel seat from has any one got any tips or advise on how to do this as i guess i gopt to be a little carefull.

Depends how it's fixed on - hold in it steam from a boiling kettle for a few minutes to try and loosen the glue that it may be fixed with. A hot air gun also works. I took on off a rod a couple of months ago and it took me about 3 hours. There are threads about this, have a look at THIS.
Most reel seats are fixed on with araldite so you have to cut them off with a junior hack saw cutting down at an angle then rotating slightly each time so as not to cut in to rod
