Hi,
I live in Essex and would love to fish here for Zander, if there is some chance of success. The nearest river that holds (or used to hold) this species could be the river Stour. However, browsing the internet, I could not find any recent reports. Does anyone know, if Zander are still present in the river or heard of Zander being caught in the Stour within the last few years? I would be grateful for any help or advice you could share.
Many thanks!

Hi SiDfish,
Thanks for asking. Hope that’s not too laughable, but I’m thinking the Suffolk Stour.. Sudbury to Bures. Do you know, if it’s any good trying for Zander?

Try your local EA office and ask to be put in touch with a fisheries officer or fisheries specialist. If you get the cold shoulder email via facebook, or write, and they'll have to reply (customer charter). They'll also know the landowners/fishing clubs involved.
