Can I get some advice please...

Soon to be looking to get a rod for boat fishing. I'll be using it for drifting with jellies mainly, but also tope and stuff like that.

I have an uptider at the moment. I lover the extra length compared to a std boat rod, but i never need to cast with it. I'll be fishing wrecks in the channel mainly, although i love my lightline fishing, so i'll use it for (blue) sharks too.

Time for a new rod.

Should i get another uptider, or go for a 6-12lb class downtider?

I have about 100 notes to play with here, and i'll most like stick one of my present reels on what ever i get (penn 525 or 535)

Should i stick to what i already know and like, or would i be missing out, not having a decent, shorter, light downtiding rod?

Also, any recommendations would be appreciated.....

Ta in advance.
