On the basis that probably no one knows all the myriad varieties of rigs, I can perhaps put together a few and TonyDay a few more probably for demonstation purposes at one of our future meets. I'll follow it up :clap3:

Quite often I cheat as well! If I have some spare time and not going fishing then i'll make a load, but as someone who works quite alot and would rather spend my free time fishing then they are a godsend.

I can say that the Greys rigs are quite good quality and reasonable.

My house , bit of a drive though mind!

 

When I first started I also used to buy rigs at extortonate prices, I then bought the crimps, swivels and bait clips etc and replicated what i'd bought. It took the mystery out of wishbone and pennell rigs thats for sure. As long as you know how to tie a decent knot you'l be well away.

 

i think this sort of thing is a brilliant idea for people who want to learn more about tackle. great for new anglers to get to know like minded, more experienced guys with knowlege to share. i wish this sort of thing was thought of when i started out, i basically tought myslef the basics of rig making and will never go back to buying rigs! nothing like catchin a fish on your own creation!

also find making rigs a nice way to spend an evening!
that and i have more faith in my own rigs, also if it gose wrong the
person to blame is my self!

 

Tell you what i'll show you all the basics of rig makin this Saturday you will ever need ....only take me 15mins max .......people that know me ...know i make my rigs on the beach for the way im gonna fish ....cause you just never know when you need that rig you just havnt got.......lol
