Seems to be an eastcoast thing Ads. I used to holiday in Stonehaven and thats what they called them there.

Never heard of sadies, a few lads i know from Arbroath area call them 'saithe' and some of the irish boys call larger ones 'blackjacks'.

Little ones cuddies, then saithe or coley.

PS - I think baby ones were called geeties.
