Lovely rod, a real all rounder for summer fishing from flats to bass to mullet light with excellent quality eyes and reel seat, you can hold it all day light as a feather with a bit of grunt low down in the but. Not the best on a windy day in the stand but it has so many pluses that's small coal.

I have a pair of Odessa and a pair of the Salt... you can't get too much of a good thing.

I got the Salt when they were on offer here as I couldn't go without that type of rod should I lose or break the Odessas.

The Odessa seems to be a bit more 'robust' but the actions are very similar; the only fault, as I saw it, with the Salt is the very slim shiny blank... no hand grips, so I have modified the grip areas by using spiral wrapped black draught excluder self adhesive tape... finished off with insulation tape. Better grip, warmer to hold and more comfortable.

The slim diameter of the grip and the lightness of the blank makes it an ideal rod for a child... you can whack a 3oz lead with it but won't after a while when you realise most fish can be caught very much closer than 'whacking' range. I've used the rods on Chesil, a 3oz grip and light line holds as well as a 5 oz on thicker mainline.
