Ardrossan Pier (Lighthouse) has been out of bounds for angling for years now but you can still fish the back of the harbour wall. Rough ground for dogs, small coalies / pollock / codling with best baits lug and rag. Wrasse fishing can be good here at times with float fished rag close in best for fish to 2 or even 3 pounds although they average under a pound.

Saltcoats not as good but similar fishing.

Good light tackle float fishing in summer (July onwards) in the inner basin at Ardrossan for Mackerel and coalies.
