I have used quite a few jig heads from different manufactures along with different bodies and mixed an matched them all with no difference in catch rates.
I think it's the action ,shape and colour of the body that does the work rather than the jighead.

To me the jig head is literally just a weight...
Even the fancy stand up ones make little difference.
I nearly always try and rig weedless though.

Agreed.
Even cheaper for the OP, use drilled bullet with a bead and stop knot

I do use small cone weights and a bead from hobby craft.
Obviously with off set hooks.

Those plaice beads (I think tronix makes them) are good for cone weights 5g+ when trying to imitate sprat they add a little flash in the water when the light hits them. Agm do loads of suitable jigheads or you can buy a mould and make your own. I mostly use the football ones.

Lures and lure fishing tackle at great prices!

Ah I was thinking about making some Texas rigs with the SG bodies. Just ordered some off set hooks wasn't sure what size and went for 2/0's in the end. I have some 5/8oz oval barrel leads I was going to cut in half and use. I was thinking of super gluing the weight to the body once it was all rigged up. Is this not a good move? A bead in between seems the popular thing to do. Is there a practical reason for this or is for more attraction like tom said?

2/0 might be a bit small, I think the ones I use are 3/0 or 4/0 can't tell for sure though as all my weedless hooks get chucked in together, the bead serves two purposes it protects the knot to the hook and causes a rattling noise.

I HTO do a little dispenser of cone heads with mixed sizes in it £2.99 from Veals mail order, I normally have 2g 5g 7g and 10g, I then have 15g Cannelle heads also from veals, they are like a jig head that you can add any hook to.

For my SG Sandeels I bought a load of heads from a local ebay seller in various sizes, just looked and he does not have any listed but he has a few other bits I want so will pop over and see him and ask about the heads, not sure of the make but they look very similar to the SG ones and very reasonably priced.

Looking at buying some of these what weight would be best for sg sandeels and xlayers ?
I use 3g 5g and 7g and will go as high as 9g.
Use the lightest you can get away with and go for the better ones as they are denser therefore smaller for the given weight.
I also use rubber cone locks and a glass bead...
