Also looking for suggestions where I may be able to get a permanant berth on the East coast (Scarborough, Brid, Whitby) Have applied to Scarborough and been told I could be waiting years - RUBBISH!!

There isnt a number that you could ring the boat club meetings are on the last tuesday of every month at the anglers club, meetings start at 8pm i am a member of the club and always around the harbour if you need any more information i own a boat called ORCA which is birthed alongside the chicken run, as for getting a birth in the harbour there are new boats coming in all the time i was told the same as you when i first enquired so i aplied expecting to have a long wait but 8 weeks later i got a phone call with the offering me a birth but if its a pontoon birth you want then it will never happen there is a very long waiting list for them

Hi
I've just got a berth on one of the drying pontoons at Whitby. There is a waiting list for the wet berths and it seems to be a case of getting your name down, & working your way to a better berth position.
You may get a drying pontoon berth at Whitby you will just have to contact the harbourmaster, fill in the application form & keep pestering them.
By the way what's the boat you've got, looks like my MF 625
