Hi all

I'm planning to go for a cast this Sunday with my dad, probably be around Arbroath area, is there a particular species to be targeting and what recommendations do you have for bait etc. this time of year.

It depends where at Arbroath..If it's the beach fishing you're after i would head for Elliot beach chance of flounder,dab,turbot,plaice and possibly bass too. I would fish 2 hook paternoster 1/0 hooks, baits mackie,bluey,and if you get them ragworm. As for Arbroath cliffs ,Auchmithie i don't to much rock fishing of those but from what i know should be possible to get cod,pollock,coalfish,conger, ling also possible are mackies and maybe even an lsd as these seem to being showing more and more around the east coast nowadays. Baits i would say mackie,squid,lugworm,sandeel. Spinners would be a better choice for pollock or maybe float sandeel.
