I'm looking for a strong, light tipped scratching rod about 10/11 foot. 2-4 or 2-5 oz casting weight. Ive been looking at the Shakespeare Agility MPV because it seems like a nice bit of kit and is in my price range (£50-100) ish. Any other suggestions or reviews of the Agility are much appreciated, Cheers

I've got the gr75s bass rod, I use it at my clean ground marks with braid on a 5500 Ultegra. It is not a tippy rod, so if you're looking for something with incredible bite detection with mono, this isn't it.

That said, it casts well enough, very light etc, I've only ever caught small stuff such as flounder, schoolies, small straps/silvers etc on it though.

I have thrown 4oz and whole squid baits without issue.

The mpv is quite versatile as it has a stiffer tip compared to the flattie rod.

I have 11’ agility tipster teamed with ultegra 5500.

Light and Great fun, good bite detection used on cleN sandy beaches.

Might not be as strong as the others.
