Hi Lads, New Poster Here.

Going Sea fishing today up the Cullen way, What is the best Bait to use? We have just tried to dig Lug worm from Findhorn but had no joy, The tackle shops have frozen bait, which is the best?

Cullen tackle shop, if its open, has macky, squid, razor, crab and sandeels all of those should get you a few fish. Macky and a bit of squid will be fine though. Fishing is fairly slow at the moment, but in the summer the Firth can be really good.

There is usually lots of lug in Findhorn but in the colder months the worms are deeper, it can make it a bit easier if you chase the tide down. You can also get a few on Lossie west beach but they aren't there in any great numbers.

Dave at the Cullen tackle shop sometimes has fresh lug/rag and as bigads said loads of frozen baits.
Nowhere realy fishing at the moment round here,odd flattie at Cullen Beach,Portknockie harbour may throw up a coalie or flattie depnding on the weather .

if you drop us a pm mate i will show you some of the worm beds that dont fail winter or not and then the rest will be up to you:)
