Hi lads ,

Been wanting to ask, I need a tripod for my fishing, as far as i know, most tripods have a "V" shaped leg only on the main leg which where the cups is,and the tubular legs on the other 2 legs,

Me need a tripod which have "V" shaped legs on all three legs as i will be using the tripod for fishing big fishes.

Cheers ?

the blue SALT one is heavier than most so maybe a choice though i really like the ian golds ones for quality , i would be happy using my golds and just set the drag on the reel ??

I've recently got a Team Daiwa Long Double Beach Rest - it has a V shaped extending leg at the back and in an absolute monster when put up to maximum height - the legs lock too so it's easy to move about - might be worth a look, it's a sturdy bit of kit. I paid about £40 for it.

not sure if 3 v's would make it any stronger, the top spreader block would be massive to take 3 y's.

parker or glodsy one for me, with a goldsy leg locking kit and a parker trace bar. makes it sold as a rock.

the main thing is to point the tripod towards the pull (from either fish, tide or weed) this is where a lot of people go wrong by putting them and wrong angles.

could you not use a sand spike. think they use these for 200lb+ shark in south africa.
